Those members of Banbury Choral Society who were lucky to attend last Saturday’s workshop at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church in Banbury, Oxfordshire, were treated to a Masterclass of singing technique by Julian Harris. He took the choir through all of the Bach St John Passion chorales and introduced dynamics, emotion and feeling to the pieces.
Julian has been the choir’s conductor since 2011 and has been an inspirational teacher to the members of the choir. The choir has gone from strength to strength in that time and performs at a high level with standing ovations at their recent concert.
The workshop was conducted over a morning and for those who missed the last one, there will be another workshop for members to be held on Saturday 29th February from 9.30am to 1pm.
